PRE/AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM
The After-School program is designed to provide youth a safe and supervised haven with a chance to develop transferable skills necessary to experience success at home, in school, and within their communities.
Computer Lab
Youth will have access to computers to access resources, complete homework and project assignments, conduct research, secure employment, increase computer literacy, participate in PowerPoint trainings, and play appropriate on-line games for leisure activities.
Homework Assistance/ Tutor
Youth will be provided with homework assistance to build confidence, improve comprehension, learn how to apply new skills, feel more confident, and improve academic success.
Emergency School Services (ESS)
This service is for youth who are awaiting school placement to be arranged by guardian. Youth will participate in educational learning activities and motivational supports to increase school performance. ESS is also for youth who are suspended from school. Youth will be stationed at center during the day and complete school assignments via PowerSchool and receive assistance as needed.
Recreational & Leisure Activities
Youth will be provided with opportunities to engage in fun activities such as pool, ping pong, fuse ball, air hockey, electronic basketball games, video games, board games, and other arts/crafts activities at their leisure. Youth will also be able to assume leadership roles and become involved in improving their pro-social peer relationships. These programs help develop physical fitness, reduce stress and promote a positive use of leisure time, appreciation for the environment and interpersonal skills.
